Mike Weaver has retired at the age of 37 after 11 seasons in the NHL.

Weaver announced his retirement Monday in a statement by the NHL Players' Association, saying he ''never could have imagined'' such a career.

Weaver also played for the Atlanta Thrashers, Los Angeles Kings, Vancouver Canucks, St. Louis Blues and Florida Panthers. Undrafted out of Michigan State, Weaver helped Montreal reach the Eastern Conference finals in the 2013-14 season.
