On Wednesday Maple Leafs team president Brendan Shanahan held an impromptu news conference and fired a warning shot to Nazem Kadri, announcing the forward would sit the next two games as a healthy scratch.

Kadri already missed Monday's game against the Islanders, for which he was relegated to the press box after oversleeping and missing a team meeting.

According to Shanahan, that incident was not isolated.

"There's a history here," Shanahan said. "Incidents like this won't be tolerated."
