The Maple Leafs have signed defenseman Paul Ranger to a one-year, $1M deal, according to a report by TSN's Darren Dreger.

Ranger, who turns 29 in September, last played in the NHL when he skated in eight games for the Lightning during the 2009-10 season.

He had eight goals and 25 points in 51 games with the Toronto Marlies, the Maple Leafs' AHL affiliate, last season.
