The Kings have acquired forward Matt Frattin, goaltender Ben Scrivens and a second round draft selection from the Maple Leafs in exchange for goaltender Jonathan Bernier, Kings President/GM Dean Lombardi announced this morning.

Frattin this past season played in 25 regular season games with the Maple Leafs.  He recorded 13 points – including seven goals (three of which were game-winning goals) – and he enjoyed a plus-six rating.

Scrivens this past season played in 20 games with the Maple Leafs.  He posted a 7-9-0 record, two shutouts, a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage.

The second round draft selection acquired by the Kings as part of today’s trade will be in 2014 or 2015 (Toronto’s option).

Bernier joined the Kings when the club selected the netminder in the first round (11th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.  He played in 62 career regular season games with the Kings (plus one postseason contest) and had a 29-20-6 record, a .912 save percentage, a 2.36 goals-against-average and six shutouts.
