Dave Nonis, Senior Vice-President and GM of the Maple Leafs, announced Thursday that the club has acquired defenceman Kevin Marshall from the Capitals in exchange for forward Nicolas Deschamps. Marshall will be assigned to the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Marshall, 24, played in 52 games with the AHL’s Hershey Bears this season, registering a goal and four assists for five points with 77 penalty minutes and a plus-five (+5) rating. He was originally drafted by the Flyers in the second round, 41st overall, in the 2007 Entry Draft.
