After more than two weeks apart, the NHL and the NHLPA returned to the bargaining table Saturday.

For the first time since Oct. 18, Bill Daly and Steve Fehr met at a secret location Saturday afternoon, talking until around 1 a.m. Sunday morning.

"We had a series of meetings yesterday and exchanged views on the most important issues separating us," Daly said. "We plan to meet again sometime early this week."

Steve Fehr, the players' association special counsel, issued a statement echoing Daly's remarks.
