John Ferguson, vice-president and general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, announced Tuesday that the club has signed forward Darcy Tucker to a four-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial details of the contract were not disclosed. Tucker would have become an unrestricted free agent July 1. ?Darcy is one of those unique players that possesses an exceptional combination of grit and goals,? Ferguson said. ?He has been a big contributor in so many ways for many years now, both on and off the ice. His skill level makes him a key ingredient on our powerplay, and he is someone that we will appreciate having in our team?s colours for years to come.?
