The Los Angeles Kings have acquired a fifth-round selection in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for forward Jason Ward, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Ward, 28, has played in seven games with the Kings this season, recording one point (an assist) and four penalty minutes. He has also this season played in 46 games with the New York Rangers, recording 10 points (4-6=10) and 26 penalty minutes. The 6-2, 205-pound native of Chapleau, Ontario, was acquired by the Kings on February 5 from the Rangers with Marc-Andre Clich? and Jan Marek in exchange for Sean Avery and John Seymour. In 239 career regular season NHL games with the Kings, Rangers and Montreal, Ward has recorded 59 points (24-35=59) and 117 penalty minutes. Ward was originally selected in the first-round (11th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
