The Los Angeles Kings have assigned defenseman Oleg Tverdovsky to the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today. Tverdovsky, 30, has played in 26 games for the Kings this season and has recorded four points (all assists) and 10 penalty minutes. Acquired by the Kings from Carolina along with the rights to defenseman Jack Johnson for Eric Belanger and defenseman Tim Gleason on September 29, 2006, Tverdovsky, a 6-0, 185-pound native of Donetsk, Ukraine, has played in 713 career regular season NHL games for the Kings, Carolina, New Jersey, Anaheim and Phoenix/Winnipeg and has 317 points (77-240=317) and 291 penalty minutes.
