The Coyotes have traded Kyle Turris to the Senators for defenseman David Rundblad and a second-round pick in the 2012 draft.
Turris has 19 goals and 46 points in 137 career NHL games.
He was a restricted free agent and missed the first six weeks of this season before signing a two-year, $2.8 million contract.
"We are very excited to have David join our organization," Phoenix general manager Don Maloney said in a statement.
"He is a young, highly skilled defenseman with superior offensive sense. We look forward to David joining us in the desert and becoming an important player for us in the future."
