The United States can qualify for the 2008 Olympics without leaving home.
FIBA Americas announced Sunday that next summer's qualifying tournament will be played in Las Vegas, where the USA team holds training camp.
Las Vegas edged San Juan, Puerto Rico, for the right to host the tournament, which will run from Aug. 22-Sept. 2.

In an effort to help clean up the NBA's poor image, Commissioner David Stern has issued a statement asking players to, "keep the guns at home."
The statement came just weeks after an incident accured with several Indiana Pacers outside an Indianapolis strip club, and after Celtic Sebastain Telfair's name was involved in a shooting incident involving the rapper Fabulous.
