Flyers Sign Ivan Fedotov To Two-Year Deal

The Philadelphia Flyers have signed goaltender Ivan Fedotov to a two-year contract, keeping him out of free agency this offseason, a source confirmed on Tuesday.

Fedotov, 27, will have a $3.25 million cap hit.

Sabres Rehire Lindy Ruff As Coach

The Buffalo Sabres have rehired Lindy Ruff, the last head coach to lead the franchise to the NHL playoffs back in 2011.

Ruff, 64, was fired by the New Jersey Devils after 61 games this season. He replaces Don Granato, whom the Sabres fired after three seasons.

Ruff coached the Sabres for 15 seasons, from 1997 to 2013.

The Minnesota Wild signed goalie Marc-Andre Fleury to a one-year, $2.5 million contract extension Wednesday, bringing back the veteran for his age-40 season.

Fleury, who turns 40 on Nov. 28, has had a prolific season in which he passed Patrick Roy for second place behind Martin Brodeur on the NHL 's all-time list in career goaltending wins. Brodeur (691) is still 130 ahead of Fleury.

The Canadiens exercised the two-year option on Martin St. Louis' contract Wednesday, keeping the head coach behind the bench in Montreal through the 2026-27 season.

St. Louis, 48, guided the Canadiens to a 30-36-16 record this season, resulting in the third consecutive campaign in which the team failed to qualify for the playoffs since reaching the 2021 Stanley Cup Final. He is 75-100-26 since replacing Dominique Ducharme on Feb. 9, 2022.

Hobey Baker Award finalist and University of North Dakota forward Jackson Blake signed his entry-level contract with the Carolina Hurricanes, the club announced Wednesday.

Blake's contract will start this season. He'll make $775,000 at the NHL level this season and earn $832,500 at the NHL level in the 2024-25 and the 2025-26 seasons. He'll earn $80,000 at the AHL level for all three seasons, and his deal also includes a $277,500 signing bonus.

The New Jersey Devils signed one of the top college free agents Thursday, with Western Michigan forward Dylan Wendt joining them on a two-year contract.

Wendt will initially join the Utica Comets, the Devils' AHL affiliate, on an AHL amateur tryout for the remainder of the season. His two-year entry-level deal with the Devils will start in the 2024-25 campaign.

The Sharks signed him to an entry level deal that will begin immediately in the 2023-24 season.

"His on-ice awareness allows him to process the game at a high level, and is a unique player with a quality 200-foot game who excels in the offensive zone. We are excited to have him join the organization," Sharks GM Mike Grier said.
