Columbus Assigns Popperle To AHL

Press Release - The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned goaltender Tomas Popperle to the Syracuse Crunch, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, club President and General Manager Doug MacLean announced today.

Popperle was added to the roster on emergency recall from Syracuse on January 28 and made his NHL debut on February 2 at Calgary. He stopped seven-of-eight shots faced against the Flames in 25:42 of action in relief of Ty Conklin. In 29 games with the Crunch, he has posted a 13-13-3 record with a 2.96 goals-against average, .900 save percentage and three shutouts. [READ]
