Ducks Acquire Ric Jackman From Florida

Press Release - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has acquired defenseman Ric Jackman from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a conditional draft pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. The Ducks also announced that they have reassigned defenseman Aaron Rome to Portland, Anaheim?s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Jackman, 28, has played in seven games with the Panthers this season, scoring 1-0=1 point with 10 penalty minutes (PIM). The 6-2, 197-pound defenseman split the 2005-06 season between Pittsburgh and Florida, scoring 7-23=30 points with 52 PIM in 64 games played. He set a career single-season high in assists and tied his career high in points. Jackman was acquired by Florida from Pittsburgh in exchange for Petr Taticek on March 9, 2006. [READ]
