NHL.com - Anaheim added to its injury woes Sunday night when All-Star Chris Pronger broke his left foot during the Ducks' 4-3 loss to the Minnesota Wild.

A defense already missing top goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere is now without the NHL's points leader among defenseman.

Anaheim tried to look on the bright side of losing Pronger, who had 40 points in 41 games.

"It's a good challenge for us," Ducks forward Teemu Selanne said. "If you have to get hurt, this is the time."

Pronger blocked a shot by Wild forward Mark Parrish in the first period, and appeared to be hurt right away. He tried to return to the ice but was in pain.

"It wasn't really that hard of a shot, it just catches you on the right spot and there's not much padding down there," Pronger said. "Every time I went to push off, it didn't feel very good." [READ]
