Fiddler Signs Two-Year Deal With Phoenix

Press Release - Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed center Vern Fiddler to a two-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fiddler, 29, registered 11-6-17 with 24 penalty minutes (PIM) in 77 games with the Nashville Predators last season. Fiddler ranked third on the club in face-off efficiency with a personal best 54.1 winning percentage. He has finished each of the last four seasons with a face-off percentage above 50 percent and was also one of only three Predators to score multiple shorthanded goals (2) and registered a career-high 83 hits.

The 5-foot-11, 201-pound Fiddler has appeared in 305 career NHL games over six seasons with Nashville, collecting 45-48-93 with 190 PIM. He also recorded 1-2-3 and 4 PIM in 13 games with the Predators.

The native of Edmonton, Alberta was also named to the ECHL (East Coast Hockey League) All-Rookie team in 2002 while a member of the Roanoke Express. [READ]
