Stamkos, Heatley Lead Canada Past Belarus

AP - Steve Stamkos and Dany Heatley each scored twice as Canada beat Belarus 6-1 in their opening game of the World Championship, according to an Associated Press report on Friday.

The Lightning rookie Stamkos started the scoring just over a minute into the game on Friday. His second goal came later in the first period on the power play.

Senators winger Heatley, the all-time leading scorer in world championship play, scored a pair of late goals. [READ]
