Lightning Recall Ramo From Norfolk

RealGM Staff Report - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled goaltender Karri Ramo from the Norfolk Admirals of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, Executive Vice President and General Manager Brian Lawton announced. Tampa Bay also reassigned center Zenon Konopka to the Admirals.

Ramo, 22, has appeared in 22 games this season with Norfolk, posting a 6-11-4 record with a 3.71 goals-against average and a .885 save percentage. He made 26 saves on 27 shots last night in a 2-1 Norfolk win against the Albany Rive Rats. He made one appearance with the Lightning this season, making 15 saves in a relief appearance on November 23 versus New Jersey.

The 6-foot-2, 207-pound native of Asikkala, Finland was drafted by the Lightning in the sixth round, 191st overall, at the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. In 24 career appearances with Tampa Bay, Ramo has compiled a 7-11-3 record with a 3.05 goals-against average.

Konopka, 6-1, 213-pounds, appeared in three games with Tampa Bay after being recalled on December 10, registering 17 penalty minutes. He has played in 27 games with Norfolk this season, recording seven goals and 21 points. He is tied for third on the team in points and is fifth in goals. His three game-winning goals lead the team.
