Coyotes Prospect Josh Tordjman Named AHL 'Player Of The Week'
8th December, 2008 - 10:26 pm
RealGM Staff Report - The American Hockey League announced today that San Antonio Rampage goaltender Josh Tordjman has been named the Reebok/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Dec. 7, 2008. Tordjman was 3-0-0 with two shutouts in three starts last week, stopping 69 of 72 shots to get the Rampage back in the win column.

On Thursday night, Tordjman stopped all 27 shots he faced as San Antonio snapped a 13-game losing streak and a 17-game winless slide with a 3-0 win over Syracuse. The Manitoba Moose then came into the AT&T Center with the best record in the AHL and Tordjman stymied them twice, making 19 stops in a 4-3 victory on Friday and pitching a 23-save shutout in a 1-0 decision on Sunday. Tordjman finished with a 1.00 goals-against average and a .958 save percentage for the week.

In recognition of his achievement, Tordjman will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming Rampage home game.

Tordjman, 23, is in his third professional season after signing with the Phoenix Coyotes on July 2, 2006. He is 4-10-1 with a 2.93 GAA in 16 outings for San Antonio this season after helping the Rampage to their first Calder Cup Playoffs appearance in five years in 2007-08. In 96 career AHL games, all with San Antonio, the Montreal native has a record of 41-42-7 with four shutouts. [READ]
