Lightning Send Ward To Norfolk

Press Release - The Tampa Bay Lightning have assigned right wing Jason Ward to Norfolk of the American Hockey League, Executive Vice President & General Manager Brian Lawton announced today.

Ward, a 6-foot-2, 208-pound native of Chapleau, Ontario, has appeared in one game for the Lightning this season, recording two penalty minutes. Acquired in a 2007 trade with the Los Angeles Kings, Ward has skated in 97 games with the Lightning during the past three seasons, recording 12 goals, 10 assists and 54 penalty minutes. He also skated in six Stanley Cup Playoff games with Tampa Bay in 2007, recording one assist.

Originally selected 11th overall by Montreal in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft, Ward, 29, has appeared in 336 career games with Montreal, the New York Rangers, Los Angeles and Tampa Bay, tallying 36 goals, 45 assists and 171 penalty minutes. [READ]
