Avs Recall Cumiskey From Lake Erie

Press Release - The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has recalled defenseman Kyle Cumiskey from Lake Erie of the American Hockey League. Cumiskey will play in tonight?s game against the Minnesota Wild at Pepsi Center (7:00 p.m.)

Cumiskey, 21, has skated in all 10 games for the Lake Erie Monsters this season, recording three points (0g/3a). The Abbotsford, B.C., native has played in 47 NHL games over the past two seasons, tallying a goal and six assists. He was the Avalanche?s ninth selection (seventh round, 222nd overall) in the 2005 Entry Draft.

In order to accommodate the 23-man roster limit, the Avalanche has loaned forward David Jones to Lake Erie. In related news, defensemen Scott Hannan (flu-like symptoms) and Daniel Tjarnqvist (foot) are unavailable for tonight?s game. [READ]
