Jackets Activate Raffi Torres Off IR

Press Release - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Raffi Torres off injured reserve, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Torres is expected to return to the lineup tonight, when the Blue Jackets host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Torres, 27, acquired from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for Gilbert Brule on July 1, suffered a shoulder injury during a preseason game against Chicago on September 29. Last season with the Oilers, he registered five goals and six assists for 11 points and 36 penalty minutes in 32 games. For his NHL career, the New York Islanders second pick, fifth overall, has tallied 67-59-126, 255 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +7 in 307 career games with the Oilers and Islanders.
