Gretzky Named Advisor To Team Canada

Press Release - Hockey Canada announced today that Phoenix Coyotes Managing Partner-Head Coach Wayne Gretzky has been named Advisor to the Executive Director for Canada?s National Men?s Olympic Team for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

?It is an honor to once again be involved with Canada?s quest for an Olympic gold medal,? said Gretzky. ?I have had the privilege of representing Hockey Canada in various capacities and it is always special. With the 2010 Olympics being played in Vancouver in front of our home fans, the experience should be truly memorable.?

Gretzky served as Canada?s executive director for the 2002 and 2006 Olympic Winter Games, as well as the 2004 World Cup of Hockey and the 2001 IIHF World Championship.

Steve Yzerman will serve as executive director for Team Canada while Doug Armstrong, Ken Holland and Kevin Lowe will make up the rest of the management team. [READ]
