Sakic: If Avs Had Pressured Me, I May Have Quit

ESPN - Joe Sakic claims that he may have decided to retire if the Avalanche had pressured him to make a decision regarding his future, according to Associated Press.

The way Colorado handled Sakic's situation is the antithesis of how the Green Bay Packers dealt with Brett Favre this summer.

"After you see what happened to him, I'm actually real glad that I did take my time," Sakic said of Favre. "If I was forced to make a decision back in May or June, I probably would have retired, and I probably would be regretting it right now."
