| 17th July, 2008 - 5:04 pm | RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed defenseman Aaron Rome to a one year, two-way NHL and American Hockey League contract, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today.
As is club policy, terms were not disclosed.
Rome, 24, had one goal and one assist for two points with 33 penalty minutes in 17 games with the Blue Jackets last season. He collected his first career NHL point with an assist against Detroit on March 16 and netted his first career goal at Detroit on April 3 against Dominik Hasek.
He also added 5-24-29 and 157 penalty minutes in 55 games with Syracuse and Portland (AHL), including 3-21-24 and 126 penalty minutes in 41 games with the Crunch after being acquired with Clay Wilson from Anaheim in exchange for Geoff Platt on November 14. He set career highs in assists, points and penalty minutes and was second among Crunch defensemen in points. [READ] |
