Leafs Woo Wilson As Coach

The Toronto Star - The Maple Leafs are trying to woo former San Jose Coach Ron Wilson to fill their coaching vacancy, according to a report in The Toronto Star.

Interim General Manager Cliff Fletcher has only discussed the job with Wilson thus far.

"We're in negotiations right now with a coach, and hopefully, we'll get it resolved in the near future," Fletcher said Monday.

Wilson was fired by the Sharks in May and played for the Leafs during his career.

"I have a lot of respect for Ron Wilson and what he's done for me and what he's done for our team," veteran Jeremy Roenick said. [READ]
