Ducks' Burke Denies Report He Asked Out

The Los Angeles Times - Ducks' General Manager Brian Burke has denied a report in The Toronto Sun that he met with his bosses and asked to be released from his contract, according to The Los Angeles Times.

The initial report in the Sun indicated that Burke was looking to leave and become the next GM of the Maple Leafs.

"My employment was never discussed," Burke said. "So no, that story is not true. I'm still under contract to the Ducks."

Ducks' chief executive Michael Schulman did admit that the team has had to deal with requests about Burke from other teams, though.

"We have and will continue to deny requests from other clubs," Schulman said. [READ]
