Troubled swingman Rodney Buford returned to the Miami Heat after signing a 1-year contract. Terms were not announced, but the most Miami could have offered Buford was the veteran minimum for a 2nd year pro.

After 3 marijuana-related arrests during his rookie season in Miami, Buford was traded to the Hornets in the 9 player Eddie Jones trade. The Hornets waived Hornets shortly afterwards after Buford failed to show up in Charlote on time. He eventually latched on with the Eastern Conference champion Philadelphia 76ers last season.
