Coyotes Sign Jonas Ahnelov

Press Release - Phoenix Coyotes' General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have signed defenseman Jonas Ahnelov to an entry level contract. As per club policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.

Ahnelov, 20, was selected by the Coyotes in the third round (88th overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft. The Huddinge, Sweden native recorded 3-4-7 and 30 penalty minutes (PIM) in 51 games for Frolunda HC of the Swedish Elite League last season.

The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Ahnelov appeared in 112 games with Frlounda HC over three seasons (2005-2008), collecting 4-7-11 and 52 PIM. He also spent parts of four seasons (2003 ? 2007) in the Swedish Junior League, recording 11-20-31 and 206 PIM in 76 games with Frolunda and Huddinge IK.
