1st May, 2008 - 5:00 pm
ESPN - New York forward Sean Avery remained in intensive care on Thursday, two days after his spleen was lacerated during a playoff game against the Penguins, according to the Associated Press.

"He won't be removed from there until it stops bleeding, and it hasn't," team spokesman John Rosasco said Thursday.

"He was never in a life-threatening situation," Rosasco added.

He spent time in the hospital on Wednesday after it was determined that his season was over. He will not need surgery. [READ]
