| 3rd April, 2008 - 11:35 am | Press Release - The Columbus Blue Jackets have added right wing Adam Pineault to the roster on emergency recall from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus? American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Pineault is expected to join the club today and be available to make his NHL debut tonight when the Blue Jackets visit the Detroit Red Wings.
Pineault (pronounced pih-NOH), 21, has collected 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 points with 64 penalty minutes and a -1 plus/minus rating in 74 games with Syracuse this season. He leads the club and ranks second in the AHL with six shorthanded goals, is third on the club in points, fourth in goals and fifth in assists. He has registered 33-43-76, 130 penalty minutes and is +1 in 131 career AHL games, including 12-16-28, 66 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 57 games as a rookie in 2006-07.
The 6-foot-1, 201-pound native of Holyoke, Massachusetts, was Columbus? second pick, 46th overall, in the 2004 Entry Draft. He played the 2003-04 season at Boston College before spending the next two years with Moncton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, where he tallied 55-50-105, 158 penalty minutes and was +42 in 116 games. He helped the Wildcats reach the Memorial Cup Finals in 2005-06 and also played for Team USA at the 2005 World Junior Championships. [READ] |
