Avs Recall Smith; Send Jillson To AHL Lake Erie

Press Release - The Colorado Avalanche Hockey Club announced today that it has recalled forward Wyatt Smith from the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League.

Smith, 31, began this season with the Avalanche, appearing in 25 games (0g/3a) before being reassigned to Lake Erie on Dec. 5. Smith currently ranks fourth on the Monsters in scoring with 28 points (11g/17a) in 30 games.

The Thief River Falls, Minn. native has recorded 32 points (10g/22a) in 211 career games in the National Hockey League. He signed with the Avalanche as a free agent on Aug. 20, 2007.

In a related move, the Avalanche also announced that it has reassigned defenseman Jeff Jillson to Lake Erie. [READ]
