Kings Activate Blake From IR

Press Release - The Los Angeles Kings have activated defenseman Rob Blake from the injured reserve list, Kings' President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Blake, 38, has missed the last 11 games due to an ankle injury. The Kings' team captain has 26 points (5-21=26) and 80 penalty minutes in 53 games this season. The Kings originally selected the 6-4, 225-pound native of Simcoe, Ontario, in the fourth-round (70th overall) in the 1988 NHL Entry Draft. Blake has appeared in more games (787), scored more goals (157), accrued more assists (332), and collected more points (489) than any other defenseman in franchise history. In addition, his games played total ranks fourth overall, and his totals for all-time assists and all-time points each rank seventh overall in franchise history. Blake is the NHL?s active leader among defensemen with 219 goals. He has 697 points (219-478=697) and 1,491 penalty minutes in 1,109 career NHL games with the Kings and Colorado. [READ]
