Jackets Place Modin On IR With Hamstring Injury

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed left wing Fredrik Modin on Injured Reserve due to a hamstring injury suffered on January 29 vs. the Phoenix Coyotes, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Modin is expected to miss approximately one week of action.

Modin, 33, has registered two goals and two assists with 10 penalty minutes and an even plus/minus rating in 11 games with Columbus this season. He returned to the lineup on January 19 at Dallas after missing the previous 35 games due to a back injury suffered at Anaheim on November 1. He has appeared in 752 career NHL games, registering 207-201-408 and 375 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +9 with the Blue Jackets, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Toronto Maple Leafs.
