Jackets Recall Brule From AHL Syracuse

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled center Gilbert Brule from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus? American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. He is expected to join the club in time for Thursday?s road game against the Nashville Predators.

Brule, 21, has appeared in 31 games with the Blue Jackets this season, tallying one goal and three assists for four points with 10 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating. Since being assigned to the Crunch on January 1, he has collected 4-4-8 and 16 penalty minutes in 12 AHL contests.

Columbus? first pick, sixth overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, he has registered 12-15-27 and 38 penalty minutes in 116 career NHL games. The 5-10, 180-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta, tallied 9-10-19 and 28 penalty minutes in 78 games as a rookie with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07. [READ]
