Jackets Trade Shelley To Sharks

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a sixth round pick in the 2009 National Hockey League Entry Draft from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for left wing Jody Shelley, club General Manager Scott Howson announced tonight.

Shelley has appeared in 31 of Columbus? 52 games this season and collected 44 penalty minutes. Signed by the Blue Jackets as a free agent on Jan. 31, 2001, he has registered 11 goals and 18 assists for 29 points with 1,025 penalty minutes in 380 games during his NHL career. Shelley, who will turn 32 on February 7, is the franchise?s all-time leader in penalty minutes and stands tied with Rostislav Klesla for second in games played behind David Vyborny (519). [READ]
