Blue Jackets Activate Glencross; Assign Lindstrom To AHL Syracuse

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated left wing Curtis Glencross off Injured Reserve and assigned left wing Joakim Lindstrom to the American Hockey League?s Syracuse Crunch, club General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Glencross will be available to return to the lineup tonight when Columbus wraps up a three-game homestand at Nationwide Arena against the Vancouver Canucks.

Glencross, 25, has collected six goals and six assists for 12 points with 19 penalty minutes and a +4 plus/minus rating in 31 games with Columbus this season. Acquired by the Blue Jackets from the Anaheim Ducks a year ago, he has 7-6-13 and 21 penalty minutes in 40 career NHL games. An NHL rookie in 2007-08, he spent most of the past three seasons in the AHL where he registered 48-40-88 and 281 penalty minutes in 159 games. In 29 games with the Crunch in 2006-07, he picked up 19-16-35 and 53 penalty minutes.

Lindstrom has tallied 2-4-6 and eight penalty minutes in 11 games with Columbus this season. He has been one of the AHL?s top point producers this season, having notched 15-23-38 and 50 penalty minutes in 29 games with Syracuse. Columbus? second pick, 41st overall, in the 2002 Entry Draft, he was named to the Planet USA Team for the 2008 AHL All-Star Classic to be held in Binghamton, New York on January 27-28 He has registered 55-82-137 and 136 penalty minutes in 156 career AHL games.
