| 9th January, 2008 - 4:48 pm |  RealGM Staff Report - The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned right wing Bobby Ryan to the Portland Pirates, Anaheim?s primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Ryan, 20 (3/17/87), scored 3-2=5 points in 13 games with the Ducks this season. Selected in the first round (second overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, Ryan opened the 2007-08 regular season with Anaheim before being assigned to Portland on Oct. 6. He made his NHL debut on Sept. 29, 2007 against Los Angeles in London, England, scoring his first career goal at the 13:09 mark of the third period.
A native of Cherry Hill, NJ, Ryan has 10-14=24 points with a +6 rating and six penalty minutes (PIM) in 25 games with the Pirates this season. At the time of his Dec. 15 recall, he was leading Portland in plus/minus (+6), tied for the team lead in power play goals and ranked second in goals and points. He has recorded seven multiple-point games in the AHL, including a season-high 2-1=3 point contest on Nov. 17 at Worcester.
In 2006-07, Ryan led Owen Sound of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in scoring for the second consecutive season. He appeared in 63 games with the Attack, collecting 43-49=102 points while finishing eighth in OHL scoring and fourth in power play goals. [READ] |
