Lightning Recall Wanvig From AHL Norfolk

RealGM Staff Report - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled right wing Kyle Wanvig from Norfolk of the American Hockey League, announced today by Executive Vice President/General Manager Jay Feaster. Wanvig will be in the lineup tonight when the Lightning visit the Ottawa Senators at 7 P.M.

Wanvig, 26, has skated in 33 games with the Admirals this season, leading the team in goals (13), assists (23) and points (36). The 6-foot-2, 210-pound Calgary native was acquired by the Lightning in 2007 trade with Atlanta and appeared in four games for Tampa Bay last season.

Wanvig played parts of three seasons with the NHL's Minnesota Wild, appearing in a career-best 51 games in 2005-06 while recording four goals, 12 points and 64 penalty minutes. He played four full seasons in the Western Hockey League with Edmonton, Kootenay, and Red Deer from 1997 to 2001, and recorded 107 goals and 205 points in 266 games. He led Red Deer to the 2001 WHL and Memorial Cup Championships, recording 22 points in 22 post-season games. [READ]
