Hossa Extension Talks May Heat Up In Atlanta

Atlanta Journal-Constitution - The holidays meant a break in the talks between the Thrashers and Marian Hossa's agent over a possible contract extension. But that could change soon. Coach and General Manager Don Waddell said he expects to pick things back up with Hossa's agent Ritch Winter.

Waddell expects the negotiations to intensify in the coming weeks.

"We're running out of time, obviously," Waddell said Friday morning. "The sooner for everybody, the better."

The NHL's trade deadline is Feb. 26, and the Thrashers would have to consider trading the forward if a deal can't get worked out before then. [READ]
