| 9th December, 2007 - 2:00 pm | RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed right wing David Vyborny on injured reserve and have recalled center Derek MacKenzie from the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus? American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Vyborny was placed on injured reserve retroactive to December 1 when he suffered a hip injury against the Calgary Flames at Pengrowth Saddledome.
MacKenzie, 26, has recorded 10 goals and five assists for 15 points with 24 penalty minutes and is +1 in 27 games this season with the Crunch. He is second on the club in goals and fourth in points. He also is tied for the league-lead in shorthanded goals with three. In 404 career AHL games, he has 93-106-199 with 465 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +39.
Atlanta?s sixth pick (128th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft, MacKenzie has appeared in 28 career NHL games and has 0-2-2 with 20 penalty minutes spanning four seasons with the Thrashers. He made his NHL debut Apr. 12, 2002 vs. Columbus. He signed with the Blue Jackets as a free agent on July 11, 2007. [READ] |
