Blue Jackets Loan Maenpaa To HPK Of Finnish Elite League

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have loaned defenseman Mikko Maenpaa to HPK of the Finnish Elite League, Blue Jackets General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Maenpaa had appeared in seven games with the Syracuse Crunch, Columbus?s American Hockey League affiliate, this season and collected two assists and six penalty minutes.

A native of Tampere, Finland, Maenpaa signed with the Blue Jackets as a free agent on June 1, 2007. Prior to this season, he registered 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points with 112 penalty minutes in 142 career games in the Finnish Elite League since 2002. Last year, he notched 14-26-40 and 48 penalty minutes in 52 games with HPK. [READ]
