Blue Jackets Assign Westcott To AHL Syracuse

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have sent defenseman Duvie Westcott to the Syracuse Crunch, the club?s American Hockey League affiliate, on a conditioning assignment, Blue Jackets' General Manager Scott Howson announced today. Westcott has not played in a game since suffering a concussion at Chicago on October 23.

Westcott has appeared in five games with Columbus this season, collecting 16 penalty minutes. He missed the final 40 games of the 2006-07 season due to a concussion suffered at San Jose on January 6. Westcott has appeared in 183 games with the Blue Jackets during his NHL career, registering 10 goals and 42 assists for 52 points with 285 penalty minutes. [READ]
