Kings Place Calder On IR

RealGM Staff Report - The Los Angeles Kings have placed forward Kyle Calder on the injured reserve list with a left thumb injury (retroactive to October 31), Kings' President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Calder, 28, was injured in the third period of the Kings-Columbus Blue Jackets' game on Wednesday night at STAPLES Center. The 5-11, 180-pound native of Mannville, Alberta, has six points (3-3=6) and four penalty minutes in 13 games with the Kings this season.

Originally selected by Chicago in the fifth-round (130th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft and signed by the Kings as an unrestricted free agent on July 2, 2007, Calder has 251 points (102-149=251) and 246 penalty minutes in 450 career NHL games with the Kings, Detroit Red Wings, Philadelphia Flyers and Blackhawks.
