Rangers Recall Dawes From AHL Hartford

RealGM Staff Report - New York Rangers' President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has recalled forward Nigel Dawes from the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Dawes, 22, has collected one goal and four assists for five points in three games with Hartford this season. He ranks first on the team in assists (four) and points (five). Last season, he appeared in eight games with the Rangers, registering one goal before being reassigned to Hartford on November 13, 2006. The 5-9, 190-pound forward closed out the 2006-07 season with the Wolf Pack, recording 27 goals and 33 assists for 60 points in 65 games. His 60 points ranked first on the team, while he finished second in goals (27) and assists (33).

The Winnipeg, Manitoba native and winner of the 2006 Lars-Erik Sjoberg Award, given annually to the best rookie of the Rangers' Training Camp as voted by local media, was New York?s fifth round selection, 149th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. [READ]
