Drury Will Center Jagr On Rangers' Top Line

Newsday - In a mild upset, Jaromir Jagr's center tomorrow night will be former Sabre Chris Drury, not ex-Devil Scott Gomez, who had been the clubhouse favorite. On Drury's left: Martin Straka, with whom Jagr has familiarity.

"I had to make a decision, as opposed to oscillate. I do that occasionally," Rangers' coach Tom Renney said after practice yesterday. "It's just a matter of what looks most comfortable. We have to allow guys to get relatively comfortable with that."

That puts Gomez, who like Jagr prefers to carry the puck up ice, between Sean Avery and Brendan Shanahan. Avery (groin strain) was held out of the final three preseason games. [READ]
