Blue Jackets Send Popperle To AHL Syracuse, Reduce Roster To 33

RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets reduced their active training camp roster to 33 players as goaltender Tomas Popperle was assigned to the American Hockey League?s Syracuse Crunch, General Manager Scott Howson announced today.

Popperle, Columbus? fifth pick, 131st overall in the 2005 Entry Draft, appeared in two games with the Blue Jackets last season, sporting a 1.35 goals-against average and .939 save percentage in two relief appearances. He went 25-19-4 with a 2.86 GAA and .905 SV% in 49 games with the Crunch in 2006-07. [READ]
