Rangers Release Mark Smith, 27 Players Remain In Camp

RealGM Staff Report - New York Rangers President and General Manager Glen Sather announced today that the club has released forward Mark Smith from his try-out agreement and reassigned the following five players to Hartford (AHL): goaltender Miika Wiikman; defenseman Michael Sauer; and forwards Dane Byers, Francis Lessard and Lauri Korpikoski. The Rangers now have 27 players remaining in training camp, including three goaltenders, nine defensemen and 15 forwards. New York continues its exhibition schedule Friday, September 28 at 7:00 PM when the team hosts the New York Islanders at Madison Square Garden. [READ]
