| 2nd July, 2007 - 3:51 pm | RealGM Staff Report - The Columbus Blue Jackets have re-signed defenseman Ole-Kristian Tollefsen and center Alexander Svitov to two-year deals, club General Manager Scott Howson announced on Monday.
?Ole and Alexander are talented, young players who showed great improvement over the course of last season and became very difficult to play against,? Howson said. ?Each displayed a level of competitiveness and hard-nosed play that will continue to help our hockey club.?
Tollefsen, 23, registered two goals and three assists for five points with 125 penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of +2 in 70 games with the Blue Jackets in 2006-07, his first full season with the club. He ranked third on the club in penalty minutes and was tied for fifth in plus/minus rating.
Svitov, 24, netted 7-11-18 with 145 penalty minutes in 76 games, setting career highs in goals, assists, points, penalty minutes and games played. He led the club and ranked seventh in the NHL in penalty minutes, while ranking second among Blue Jackets in face-off percentage at 50.9 percent. He set a new career high for assists and points in a game with 0-3-3 at Anaheim on January 5. [READ] |
