Blue Jackets Acquire Fifth Round Pick From Bruins

RealGM - The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired a fifth round pick in the 2007 Entry Draft from the Boston Bruins in exchange for the rights to defenseman Adam McQuaid, club Interim General Manager Jim Clark announced today.

McQuaid, 20, collected nine goals and 22 assists for 31 points with 110 penalty minutes and was +7 in 65 games with the Sudbury Wolves of the Ontario Hockey League this season. He added 1-5-6 with 24 penalty minutes in 21 playoff games for the Wolves this postseason.

Columbus' second pick, 55th overall, in the 2005 Entry Draft, McQuaid has registered 18-58-76 with 340 penalty minutes and a cumulative plus/minus rating of +32 in 246 career games, all with Sudbury. In 46 playoff games, he has 1-9-10 with 52 penalty minutes. [READ]
